Blair Cowan has extensive work experience in finance and accounting roles. They started their career at PwC in 2008 as a Senior Associate, where they gained experience in audit supervision, client relationship management, and audit management. In 2010, they also had a secondment at ANZ as a Financial Accountant, where they focused on daily and monthly journal processing, control process understanding, and statutory account preparation.
In 2011, Blair moved to Broadridge Financial Solutions as a Management/Financial Accountant, where they were responsible for various tasks such as P&L forecast preparation, process improvement, intercompany recharging, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Blair then joined Bupa Australia & New Zealand in 2014 as a Finance Business Partner. In this role, they provided support in monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic planning. They also built strong relationships with key stakeholders.
In 2015, Blair took on the role of Management Accountant at Yealands Wine Group, where they contributed their financial expertise before moving to their most recent position as the Chief Financial Officer at Tíra.
Blair Cowan earned a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Accounting and Business/Management from the University of Canterbury, which they pursued from 2004 to 2007. In 2010, Blair attended Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, where they received a qualification as a Chartered Accountant, focusing on Accounting and Finance.
