Leo Kawai

Leo Kawai is the Chair and Founder of Chuo Translational Science LLC since March 2019 and has served as an Expert Consultant for NDA Partners LLC since December 2018. Kawai previously held the position of Senior Consultant at CMIC from August 2017 to April 2019 and continues to collaborate with CMIC on a part-time basis through a corporate partnership. From August 2014 to July 2017, Kawai was the Head of Clinical Science in Japan at Bayer. Prior roles include Head of Clinical Pharmacology at Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd. and various positions at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research and Sandoz. Kawai began a career in research as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the NIH Clinical Center's Nuclear Medicine Department. Kawai earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biopharmaceutics from Chiba University School of Pharmacy, completing studies from 1977 to 1986.
