Tom Galluzzo

Tom Galluzzo is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in robotics and automation. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Near Earth Autonomy since February 2023, Tom has also held the roles of Founder and Board Member at Onward Robotics since March 2013, and Co-Founder and CEO/CTO at MechaSpin since January 2016. Tom's expertise encompasses team leadership, customer development, product management, and fundraising. Furthermore, Tom co-founded OpenJAUS, providing strategic and technical advice, and has previously worked as a Senior Robotics Engineer at Carnegie Mellon University, where Tom led architecture and perception for DARPA projects. Tom's early career includes mechanical engineering roles at Harris Corporation and internships at Calspan Corporation and Boeing, complemented by a PhD in Robotics from the University of Florida and a BS in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
