Joan Jorquera

Joan Jorquera Grau is an experienced engineering professional with a robust background in avionics, robotics, and autonomous systems. Currently serving as the Head Of Continuous Engineering and Manufacturing at Near Space Labs since October 2018, Joan coordinates continuous improvement efforts for imaging platforms and leads avionics and on-board software initiatives. Previously, significant roles include Chief Engineer at Scaled Robotics, focusing on software-hardware integration and autonomous navigation, and Robotics GNC Engineer at SCISYS PLC, where development of autonomous robotic software was paramount. Career foundations were built at GMV Aerospace and Defence as an Autonomous Robotics Project Engineer, and as a Teaching Assistant in Mechatronics at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. Joan holds M.S. degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Electrical Engineering, specializing in Robotics & Autonomous Systems.
