Taco Engelaar

Taco Engelaar has a diverse work experience. Taco is currently the SVP & GM Europe at Neara since November 2022. Prior to this, they founded Akero Consultancy Ltd in March 2021 and served as its Director & Founder. Taco also held the position of Chief Commercial Officer at Voyage Control from June 2022 to November 2022. Before that, they worked as the Chief Commercial Officer at AI Clearing from March 2021 to June 2022. From May 2019 to April 2021, Taco was the Global Head of Business Development at Herbert Smith Freehills. Prior to that, they held positions at PwC Middle East, where they served as the Senior Client Strategist & Industry Lead from August 2017 to April 2019 and as Manager Clients & Markets from August 2015 to August 2017. Taco was also an Executive Board Member at Dutch Business Council from January 2016 to December 2017. Taco has experience as a Business Development & Country Manager at IPS Group from April 2014 to July 2015, and as an Economic Advisor at the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands in Mexico City from June 2013 to April 2014. Taco'searly work experience includes a role as Professional Services at BinckBank N.V. from December 2009 to June 2013.

Taco Engelaar has a diverse education history. In 2001, they began their education at Erasmiaans Gymnasium, where they studied Economics and Society/Culture and Society until 2006. Taco then attended Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 2007 to 2010, earning a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration (IBA).

In 2007, Taco Engelaar also briefly studied French Language at Université Paul Valéry - Montpellier III. After completing their undergraduate studies, from 2010 to 2011, they attended Tecnológico de Monterrey, focusing on Business Administration.

Taco Engelaar furthered their education at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 2012 to 2013, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Strategy and Organization.

In addition to their formal education, Taco Engelaar also holds a Certificate in ESG Investing, which they obtained from CFA UK in November 2020.
