Matthew Carpenter

Matthew Carpenter is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in risk retention financing and structured products. Currently serving as Managing Director at Nearwater Capital since July 2023, Matthew previously held key roles at JPMorgan Chase & Co. for over two decades, including Global Co-Head of CLO Trading and Global CDO Trader as an Executive Director. Matthew's background also includes positions in CDO Investor Relations and as a CDO Relationship Manager. Matthew holds an Honours degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, along with a CFA certification from AIMR.
