Walter Weir

Walter Weir has extensive experience in the field of information technology and education. Currently serving as Commissioner for the Nebraska State Records Board and representing Higher Education, Walter oversees electronic access to state government information and promotes the use of technology across various sectors. Walter's previous roles include Chair of the Technical Panel for the Nebraska Information Technology Commission, Senior Advisor for Strategy at the University of Nebraska, and Chief Information Officer at the same institution, where significant IT initiatives were developed. Additional experience includes leadership positions at Fordham University and West Point, along with teaching at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Walter holds an MBA in Business and Computer Science and a BS from the University of Nebraska.
