Deon Retemeyer

Deon Retemeyer has extensive work experience in the legal field. Deon began their career as a Financial Investigator at the Kings County District Attorneys Office in 1993. Deon then worked as a Staff Attorney at the US Securities & Exchange Commission before joining Graham & James, LLP as a Corporate Associate. Deon later joined Clifford Chance as an Associate in the Corporate Finance Group. In 2001, they joined NEC USA, Inc. as an Attorney and worked their way up to becoming a Senior Attorney and Assistant Secretary. Deon also served as the Corporate Secretary for various subsidiaries of NEC Corporation during this time. In 2006, they joined NEC Corporation of America as an Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary, where they continued to serve as a Corporate Secretary for NEC Foundation of America and other NEC subsidiaries. In 2014, they were promoted to Associate General Counsel, Sr. & Assistant Corporate Secretary. Most recently, in June 2022, they assumed the role of General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer & Corporate Secretary at NEC Corporation of America. Additionally, Retemeyer is a Charter Member of TechGC, a professional organization for in-house counsel in the technology industry.

Deon Retemeyer obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with a specialization in Securities, Tax, and Corporate Law from Albany Law School, where they attended from 1994 to 1997. Prior to this, they completed their undergraduate studies at the University at Albany, SUNY, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, which they pursued from 1989 to 1993.
