Phumlani Khulu

Phumlani Khulu has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Digital Lead (Program Manager) at Nedbank since July 2020. Prior to that, they worked as the Head Brewer/COO at First 15 Brew House in 2019. In the same year, they were a Rugby Coach at Rand Park High School, where they coached 65 players in the under 15 age group.

Phumlani Khulu also has extensive experience at Absa Group, where they held various roles. Phumlani was the Head: Omni-Channel Connected Journeys from April 2018 to March 2019, and before that, they served as Head: Business Planning and Integration - Distribution, Coverage & Customer Channels from February 2017 to March 2018. Phumlani also worked as a Performance Manager for Retail & Business Banking Northern Region from January 2016 to January 2017, and as a Provincial Performance Manager for Gauteng Business Banking from April 2013 to December 2015. Additionally, they held the position of Business Manager to the Head/CEO, Enterprise (Small) Business at Barclays Africa: ABSA Business Bank from February 2012 to March 2013, and was an Executive Assistant to the Head of Human Resources: Retail and Business Bank from November 2011 to January 2013. Phumlani started their career as a Business Analyst at Nedbank from October 2009 to April 2010. Prior to that, they were a Graduate Trainee/Management Information Analyst at Absa Group from January 2008 to September 2009.

Outside of their professional experiences, Phumlani Khulu was also involved in athletics during their time at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where they were a Student Athlete in Track and Field from February 2004 to November 2007. Phumlani also served as a Player Coach for the university's team, assisting the Head coach in developing the players both on and off the field.

Phumlani Khulu completed their education as follows:

- From 2019 to 2023, Phumlani Khulu studied at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, earning a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Information Systems (Enterprise Architecture).

- In 2007, Phumlani Khulu attended the University of KwaZulu-Natal and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) Honours degree in Information Systems & Technology.

- Between 2004 and 2006, Phumlani Khulu pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, with a focus on Economics/Information Systems.

- Phumlani Khulu's high school education was at General Smuts High School.

Additionally, Phumlani Khulu has a certification in Finance for Non-Financial Managers from the Gordon Institute of Business Science, obtained at an undisclosed time.
