Jan Jaap van Assen

Jan Jaap van Assen is a Lead Data Scientist at Nederlandse Arbeidsinspectie, where Jan Jaap guides the Data Science Lab in developing transparent data-driven products to distribute resources efficiently. Jan Jaap also works as a Research Fellow at Delft University of Technology, investigating human visual processing of collective flow. As a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow, Jan Jaap focuses on the human visual processing of collective motion using various modeling techniques. With a background in visual perception research and a PhD in Psychophysics, Jan Jaap has a strong foundation in computational neuroscience and media technology.
