Leonie Schakel

Leonie Schakel possesses extensive experience in the healthcare and regulatory sectors, currently serving as a Jurist at the Nederlandse Zorgautoriteit (NZa) since 2014. Prior to this role, Leonie held the position of Senior Advisor at NZa from 2006 to 2013 and contributed as the Secretary of the Allocation Committee for Malaria No More from 2008 to 2011, supporting project selection for funding in Africa. Earlier in Leonie's career, a role as a Case Handler at the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) occurred from 2000 to 2006. Leonie holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Erasmus University Rotterdam (2014 - 2022) and a Master of Laws (Meester in de rechten) along with a Doctorandus degree from Utrecht University (1994 - 2000) in Economics and Law.
