Andrew Carton

Andrew is a licensed planner who served more than 24 years as the Planning Director for the City of Trenton. He recently completed working with a local non-profit organization , CityWorks, where he managed a variety of community redevelopment initiatives that increased the number of housing, economic and educational opportunities for the under served residents of East Trenton. Andrew has a younger brother Paul with Downs Syndrome. He has seen the benefit that Paul has received by having been mainstreamed in the public school system and has experienced the on-going challenges that many caregivers must contend with to insure that individuals with disabilities secure the supportive services and opportunities that they are entitled to receive to maximize their independence.
