Chris Nelson

Chris Nelson is an experienced leader with a diverse background in business and public service. Currently serving as President and previously as Vice President at Nelson Electric Company, LC since May 2008, Chris has also held significant political roles as a Ward 4 City Councilperson in Ames, Iowa, from January 2014 to December 2019. In addition to governmental service, Chris chaired the Board of Directors for Mainstream Living and held various leadership positions within the Ames Chamber of Commerce and the Iowa State FarmHouse Association. Prior to these roles, Chris worked as an Enterprise Systems Manager at The Weitz Company and as a Project Engineer at Bulley & Andrews. Chris holds an MBA from The University of Iowa, a Master's in Civil and Construction Engineering, and a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, all contributing to a well-rounded expertise in business administration and engineering.
