Sara Newman

Sara Newman is a seasoned animator and animation supervisor with extensive experience at NELVANA since 2000, where recent contributions include serving as Animation Lead on "Mike the Knight." In addition to work on shows like "Handy Manny" and "The Backyardigans," Sara has held various animation roles at Corus Entertainment, Monster By Mistake Inc, and Spin Productions. Earlier in their career, Sara was a visual artist with mixed media and installation works exhibited across North America and participated in the Banff Centre for the Arts' Nomad program. Sara's background also includes directing for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and founding the Women's Video Collective to empower women in documentary filmmaking. Academically, Sara holds a BFA in Intermedia from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and has pursued studies in computer animation and marketing.
