Aidan Petrie

Founder at NEMIC Foundation

Aidan Petrie is the founder of the NEMIC Foundation and a former board member of Item Industries. Aidan has also served as the co-founder and chief innovation officer of Ximedica.

Petrie began their career in 1985 as a co-founder of Ximedica, a medical product development company. Aidan then went on to co-found Item Group in 1993, which focused on the research, design, and development of products in various consumer categories. In 1995, they co-founded Item Industries, which operated factories in the Pearl River delta and supplied premium consumer goods to markets in the US and EU.

In 2005, Petrie left Item Industries to focus on the NEMIC Foundation, which they had founded earlier that year. The foundation is dedicated to supporting medical innovation and entrepreneurship.

Aidan Petrie has a Masters in Industrial and Product Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. Aidan also has a BID in Product Design/engineering from Central St Martins.
