Gareth Ivatt

Gareth Ivatt has a long and varied career in software engineering, beginning in 1999 with Vividence Corporation. At Vividence, they worked as a Software Engineer, decoupling infrastructure through Pub/Sub using MSMQ and developing a free text sentiment clustering algorithm. In 2003, they moved to StarMine Corporation, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer, building out the platform from backend data processing to front end presentation on the website. In 2008, Ivatt joined Thomson Reuters as a Sr. Technical Specialist, integrating the StarMine stack into the Thomson Reuters' data centers. Gareth then moved up to the roles of Software Development Manager and Head of Analytics Development, successfully managing a group of forty plus Software and QA Engineers. In 2018, Ivatt joined Fivestars as a Staff Software Engineer, building customer and merchant facing solutions that enable the processing of payments+loyalty and backend services. Gareth was promoted to Senior Software Engineer, developing the next generation version of Fivestars' tablet software. In 2021, Ivatt joined Neo.Tax as an Engineering Manager and Tech Lead, using advanced machine learning to turn income taxes for businesses into a painless process.

Gareth Ivatt attended San Francisco State University from 1998 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.
