Hugo Firth

Hugo Firth is a Staff Software Engineer at Neo4j, where responsibilities include coordinating the technical strategy for Neo4j Aura and overseeing core distributed systems teams, encompassing system architecture, technical communication, software development, mentorship, and research. Previously, Hugo served as Team Lead for the clustered version of Neo4j, focusing on architecture, mentoring, and technical contributions, and also worked as a Software Engineer on distributed graph data management systems. Prior experience includes a Research Engineer role at Newcastle University, developing software for HEFCE-funded projects involving "Human-in-the-loop" analytics, and serving as a Partner and full stack developer at UKNX Ltd. Hugo holds a PhD in Computer Science and a BSc in Computer Science from Newcastle University.
