Martyn Shaw

Martyn Shaw is a seasoned environmental professional with extensive experience spanning over a decade in environmental assessment, permitting, and biodiversity management. Currently serving as the Director of Environmental Assessment, Permitting and Biodiversity at NEOM since October 2022, Martyn oversees the environmental and social assessment processes, regulatory permitting, and biodiversity strategy implementation for all developments within NEOM. Previous roles include Technical Director at Earth Active Ltd, where Martyn led the Environmental Department and managed major project portfolios, and various positions at Tengizchevroil, including Covid Response Manager and Environmental and Social Manager, emphasizing environmental management on significant projects and compliance with international standards. Martyn's foundational experience includes environmental consultancy roles at Copper Consultancy and Infrastructure Development Partnership, where strategic communication and contractor evaluations were key responsibilities. Martyn holds a degree in Environmental Biology from the University of Liverpool.
