Simran Khosla has a long and varied work experience in software engineering and data journalism. Simran began their career in 2009 as a Features Editor and Staff Writer at The Emory Wheel. In 2013, they began a series of internships and freelance positions, starting with a Production Intern at Digital First Media, an Editorial Intern at Vocativ, a Data Intern at WBEZ (Chicago Public Media), a Thesis Project Partner at PandoDaily, a Freelance Visual Journalist at Chicago Public Media, and a Freelance Graphics + Data Producer at GlobalPost. In 2015, they attended General Assembly's Web Development Immersive course. From 2016 to 2019, they worked at NogginLabs, Inc. as a Software Architect, and then at Neon One as a Software Engineering Manager and Senior Software Engineer.

Simran Khosla completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English and Journalism from Emory University in 2012. Simran then went on to pursue a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Journalism Studio 20 from New York University in 2013.
