Ranjana Karmacharya

Consultant Radiation Oncologist at Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Center

Dr. Karmacharya is a Radiation Oncologist who is committed to practice evidence-based radiotherapy. Practicing since 2013 as a specialist, she aims to work to raise the standard of radiation oncology in Nepal to an international level. Originally from Pokhara, she completed her MBBS degree from Nepal Medical College, Kathmandu, and her post-graduation in Radiation Oncology from the National Academy of Medical Sciences(NAMS), Kathmandu. She further mastered her knowledge and skills in recent advances and newer technologies in the field of radiation oncology during her 2 years of fellowship at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata, India. She has been involved in research and academic activities in the field of radiotherapy since her early career. She also received the prestigious ‘ABMF Karim Gold Medal’ in 2013. She completed her UICC fellowship in Stereotatic Radiotherapy from VUMC, Amsterdam, Netherland in 2022.

She started her professional journey from Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital and served there until she joined Tata Medical center for 2 years for her fellowship. She came back to Nepal in 2016 and has been involved with Nepal cancer hospital and research center since then.
