Claire Turner has extensive work experience in finance and risk management. Claire started their career in 2000 as a Business Finance Manager at Oracle Corporation, where they worked closely with the License Sales department. In 2003, they joined Kraft Foods as an Operations Accounting Manager, overseeing a team and managing stock variances. From 2004 to 2010, they worked at Nationwide Building Society as a Senior Finance Manager, responsible for various finance functions and implementing cost-saving measures. In 2010, they joined the Arts and Humanities Research Council as Head of Finance, where they managed the finance function and built relationships with stakeholders. In 2013, they became the Head of Finance & Risk at the Professional Support Unit, overseeing the delivery of finance and risk services for three Research Councils. In 2015, they also took on the role of Head of Finance Department at The Alan Turing Institute on a part-time basis, establishing finance controls and policies for a newly formed charitable company. In 2016, they became the Associate Director of Finance at the Natural Environment Research Council. Overall, Claire has demonstrated expertise in finance management, stakeholder management, and process improvement across both public and private sectors.
Claire Turner attended the University of Leicester from 1994 to 1997, where they pursued a degree in Mathematics. Claire successfully completed their studies and earned a Maths 2i degree.
