Mary Goodchild has a diverse work experience history. Mary started their career as an intern at the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, where they assisted with research and advocacy work. Mary then worked as a freelance researcher for Channel 4 News, sourcing contacts and statistics for live discussion panels. Mary also gained experience as a freelance copy editor at Polair Publishing. Mary later joined ITN as a communications intern, where they wrote and edited content for the company's intranet news pages. Mary then transitioned to Western Gazette Media, working as a reporter and later as a senior reporter. Their responsibilities included covering news stories and features. Most recently, they have been with the Natural Environment Research Council, initially serving as a news and media officer, responsible for engaging with UK and international media. Mary then became the external communications manager and is currently serving as the Head of Insight.
