Carly Buxton, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning from 2013 to 2021. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as a Flight Attendant for Delta Air Lines. In 2014, they were a Graduate Research Fellow in Japan for the Fulbright Association. From 2016 to 2018, they were a Market Insights Director and Director of Market Development for EF Education First. In 2018, they became Co-Founder and CEO of Nessle and a Postpartum Doula and Certified Lactation Counselor. In 2021, they joined Good Run Research & Recreation as Senior Research Director. Carly also worked as a University Instructor and Doctoral Researcher at The University of Chicago from 2009 to 2013.
Carly Buxton, PhD completed their education history with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in East Asian Studies from the University of Chicago in 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in Regional Studies - East Asia from Harvard University in 2009. From 2003 to 2007, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies and East Asian Studies from the University of Virginia. In 2018, they completed an altMBA program. Carly also attended the Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies (IUC) from 2010 to 2011, where they studied Japanese Language and Literature.
