Luiz Carlos Neves

Luiz Carlos Neves, PhD, is a highly experienced chemist currently working at Nestlé Purina North America since September 2024. Luiz has been a Collaborator Scientist at Fundação do ABC since January 2019, contributing to research in the Laboratory of Parasitology, including the development and validation of molecular biology tests for COVID-19. Previously, Luiz served as a Quality Control Scientist and Senior Specialist at STERIS, focusing on method development and product testing. Additional roles include serving as an Ad-hoc Chemistry Expert for the Conselho Regional de Química and consulting for the Ministry of Education regarding Chemistry undergraduate programs. Luiz has held several academic positions, including Full Professor at Universidade Paulista, Collaborator Scientist at UNIFESP and Universidade de São Paulo, and has extensive experience in research ethics and supervision of graduate students. Luiz's educational background includes a PhD in Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Technology and a postdoctoral degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universidade de São Paulo.
