Jim Mahon

General Counsel at NET Power

Jim Mahon is the current General Counsel at NET Power. Jim has held this position since March 2019. Prior to this, Jim was a Partner at Andrews Kurth LLP from January 2011 to March 2019. During their time at Andrews Kurth, Jim worked with major consumer electronics device manufacturers, providing strategic intellectual property counseling, negotiating all aspects of intellectual property transactions, and managing world-wide patent litigation matters while also being involved in patent litigation strategy. Some of their responsibilities included partnering with clients to develop and analyze risk/reward scenarios for technology acquisitions and product developments, global coordination of patent litigation strategy for clients, working with client teams to developed financial models based on sales data and projections to assess risk scenarios, and more. Jim has also assisted with governmental inquiries and regulatory investigations, provided counsel to client auditors on financial reports, managed data privacy issues in the US and EU for client and ensured compliance with federal, state, and international privacy laws, and conducted data privacy impact assessments. Jim has also negotiated numerous technology license agreements and served as a central point of contact for multiple firms handling range of client litigaiton matters.

Jim Mahon has a MS in Engineering from Columbia Engineering, a JD from Rutgers Law School, a Master of Science in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Columbia University in the City of New York, and a BS in Computer Science from Hofstra University.

Their manager is Ron DeGregorio, CEO. They work with Brock Forrest - CTO, Brandon Heffinger - Chief Commercial Officer, and Akash Patel - CFO.
