Balakumar Munusawmy

Balakumar Munusawmy has a strong background in technology and infrastructure management with over 19 years of experience. Balakumar is currently working as the Director of DevOps and Security at NetBase Quid since June 2019. Prior to this, Balakumar held the position of Director of Engineering, Cloud DevOps, and Infrastructure at LatticeWork from January 2017 to April 2019.

Before joining LatticeWork, Balakumar worked at GE Digital as a Sr. Manager SRE and Infrastructure from April 2015 to January 2017. Balakumar was responsible for leading the Cloud Infrastructure strategy for GE's Industrial cloud IOT PaaS platform.

From November 2011 to April 2015, Balakumar worked at Cisco as a Manager/Technical Leader. During their tenure, they received awards for designing the Highly available and API driven DNS platform and for delivering Cisco WebEx IM. Balakumar also designed and deployed a data analytical platform on Cloudera Hadoop and Platfora.

Balakumar has experience working at Webex as a Service Quality Architect from April 2007 to November 2011. In this role, they were the product owner of Cisco-WebEx IM and was responsible for building and supporting the product as it scaled from 2 servers to 500+ servers.

Balakumar has also worked at PayPal as a Sr Unix Admin from September 2006 to April 2007 and at iGATE Global Solutions as a Tech Lead from March 2001 to August 2006. At iGATE, they provided OS, database, and application support for multiple clients and played a major role in PeopleSoft migration.

Balakumar Munusawmy completed their MS in IT from Bharathidasan University from 2000 to 2003. Balakumar also obtained a diploma in Computer Hardware & Software from Small Industries Service Institute from 1997 to 1998. Prior to that, they completed their BSc in Maths from Annamalai University from 1995 to 1998. Balakumar Munusawmy has acquired several additional certifications, including Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate from Amazon in 2019, ITIL certification in 2012, Cloudera Certified Administrator for Apache Hadoop from Cloudera in 2011, Oracle 9i Fundamental I from Oracle in 2006, HP-UX Certified System Administrator from Hewlett Packard in 2003, and Sun Certified System Administrator - Solaris 7 from Sun MicroSystem in 2000.
