Alex Hunziker

Senior Software Engineer at Netcetera

Alex Hunziker has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Alex began their career as a Web-Entwickler, working as a self-employed individual from 2008 to 2012. Alex then transitioned to the finance sector, joining UBS as a Bankeinstieg for Mittelschulabsolventen from 2012 to 2014, followed by a role as Privatkundenberater from 2014 to 2015. Alex also gained experience in project support and digital applications at UBS from 2017 to 2017.

In 2016, Alex worked as a Projektmitarbeiter at Hunziker Betatech AG for a period of seven months before moving on to Eawag, where they worked as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter from 2016 to 2017. At Eawag, they developed programs in R, Python, C, and Julia for various projects, including anomaly detection in sensor networks using unsupervised learning algorithms. Alex also contributed to the establishment of a database warehouse and web-GUI using Python, SQLite, R, and Shiny.

Transitioning back to the tech industry, Alex joined MaibornWolff GmbH in 2019 as a Werkstudent, Software Engineer. Here, they primarily focused on the development of a tool for visualizing and analyzing code metrics using Kotlin, Typescript, and Angular. Alex's most recent position is with Netcetera - Software matters, where they initially worked as a Software Engineer from April 2020 to December 2021. Alex is currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer, starting in January 2022.

Alex Hunziker received a Master's degree in Wirtschaftsinformatik from Goethe University Frankfurt, which they pursued from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Wirtschaftswissenschaften at the University of Zurich from 2014 to 2016. In 2015, they also had a brief stint at the University of Limerick, where they studied Wirtschaftswissenschaften. In 2011, Alex obtained a Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English from the Pacific Language Institute Vancouver PLI. Furthermore, they obtained a certification as a VMware Spring Professional in September 2021 from VMware.
