Kim Larsen is an attorney, business executive, and angel investor based in Washington, D.C.

Kim was President, Corporate Strategy/M&A, and General Counsel at Broadwing Communications, where he was instrumental in turning Broadwing profitable and negotiated the sale of the Company to Level 3 for $1.6 billion.

Prior to Broadwing, Kim was General Counsel and Head of Corporate Development at Corvis Corporation, an optical long-haul telecoms equipment manufacturer. Kim led the company’s IPO for over $1.3 billion, which was the most successful venture-backed IPO to date with a peak value in excess of $40 billion. Kim also co-founded Ciena Corporation and was an initial stockholder, director and general counsel.

Kim received his undergraduate degree from BYU in Economics and Political Science, and his law degree from Columbia Law School.
