James Farris currently serves as Principal Counsel at Netflix since January 2024. Previously, James held multiple legal positions at Meta from November 2018 to January 2024, including Associate General Counsel and Lead Counsel, focusing on legal and data privacy support for marketing and advertising products across the Meta brands portfolio. Prior to that, James worked as Marketing Counsel at Danone from August 2015 to October 2018, managing food, advertising, and marketing law issues for Dannon Company and Danone Waters. James began a legal career with internships at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the National Football League, and the Office of the Attorney General of New York. James earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and a Bachelor of Science in Management of Sports Industries from the University of New Haven.
