Carlos Murilo Romero Rocha, Ph.D., is an accomplished researcher in computational and theoretical chemistry, currently serving as a Research Software Engineer at the Netherlands eScience Center since March 2023, where collaboration with an interdisciplinary team focuses on developing high-quality research software. Prior to this role, Carlos held a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship as a Research Scientist at Leiden University, contributing to the understanding of small molecule formation in space. Earlier experience includes a Postdoctoral Researcher position at Universidade de Coimbra, specializing in method development for computational chemistry and molecular physics, and a Research Assistant position at Universidade Estadual de Campinas, where Carlos developed a computational protocol for large molecule thermochemistry.
