Rena Bakhshi

Programme Officer at Netherlands eScience Center

Rena Bakhshi is a Programme Manager for the Natural Sciences and Engineering portfolio at the Netherlands eScience Center, with tenure beginning in January 2016, and also serves as an eScience Coordinator. Prior experience includes roles as an Assistant Professor, Postdoctoral Researcher, and PhD Student at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where research focused on Formal Verification. Additional research positions were held as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Melbourne and NICTA. Early career experiences include web development, management, and branding roles across various companies. Rena holds a PhD in Theoretical Computer Science from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, a Master's degree in Software Engineering of Distributed Systems from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and two Master's degrees and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from Baku State University. Education was complemented by a general education in beta sciences from Technical-humanities Lyceum No. 2.

The Netherlands eScience Center is the national center of excellence for the development and application of research software to advance academic research. We are convinced that research in every academic discipline can be improved by taking advantage of available digital technology.
