Joost Smolders

Joost Smolders is a Neurologist and Associate Professor at Erasmus MC, holding positions in both the Departments of Neurology and Immunology, as well as at the MS Center ErasMS since October 2019. With a robust background in neuroimmunology, Joost serves as a Visiting Researcher at the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience since September 2017. Prior to current roles, Joost worked as Chef de Clinique and Neurologist at Canisius Wilhelmina Ziekenhuis from May 2014 to September 2019. The early career included various residency positions and postdoctoral research focused on neuroimmunology. Joost earned a Ph.D. in Medicine from Maastricht University in 2011, where an M.D. was also obtained in 2007.
