Michael F. Angelo

Chief Security Architect at NetIQ Corporation

Michael F. Angelo has extensive work experience in the field of cyber security. Michael F. started their career in 1978 as an Operator at NYIT - CGL and later worked as a Senior Engineer at the John Von Neumann National Supercomputer Center from 1985 to 1989. Michael F. then joined Compaq Computer Corporation in 1989 as a Staff Fellow, where they provided technical guidance for security solutions. In 2001, they moved to HP, continuing their role as a Staff Fellow and specializing in security technologies.

In 2003, Angelo joined Microsoft as a Security Architect, where they liaised between the Security Business Unit and various government security agencies and provided technical input to the US government. Michael F. also defined enterprise security policies and procedures.

From 2005 to present, Angelo held various roles at OpenText and Micro Focus, including Chief Security Architect and technical advisor. Michael F. created software supply chain management and vulnerability infrastructure analysis tools and was responsible for driving and monitoring security artifacts in the release process.

Michael F. also served on the board of directors at VirnetX and was a member of committees at RSA ESPP Planning Committee and RSA Program Committee. Additionally, they chaired the Webinar Committee at ISSA from 2009 to 2020.

Michael F. Angelo attended the New York Institute of Technology from 1977 to 1981. Michael F. pursued a degree in Biomedical Engineering during this time. In terms of additional certifications, Michael obtained the CISSP certification from ISC2 in August 2011 and the CRISC certification from ISACA in September 2010. Michael F. also achieved the Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) certification from ISACA in August 2020.
