Deepan Chakkaravarthi has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Deepan began their career as an Associate Support Engineer at Helix Automation Pvt Ltd in 2004. Deepan then worked as a Support Engineer at Redington India Pvt Ltd, where they gained experience in assembling, installing, and configuring desktop PCs, as well as installing network printers. In 2008, Deepan joined Magna Infotech - A Division of Quess Corp Limited as an AIX System Administrator, where they provided support for RS6000 and various other series, performed OS installations, upgrades, and recoveries, and managed AIX Maintenance Level upgrades.

In 2009, they transitioned to Mphasis an HP Company as a Senior System Administrator specializing in Unix/AIX. Here, they played a significant role in OS installations and major OS upgrades. Deepan then worked at Citi as an AIX Administrator and focused on installing and administering AIX 5.3 and 6.1 OS.

Deepan further advanced their career at Wipro, where they served as a Senior System Analyst, supporting Asia Pacific and EMEA countries as an AIX administrator. Deepan provided level 3 data center support, maintained production servers, and supported internet and intranet applications. Additionally, they contributed to infrastructure development and application enhancement.

At Citi, Deepan held the position of Infrastructure Senior Tech Analyst (AVP), responsible for installing, maintaining, operating, improving, and upgrading Pivotal Cloud Foundry. Deepan also gained experience in BOSH, Elastic Runtime, AppsManager Configuration, and Docker containerization.

Following their time at Citi, Deepan joined Singtel as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for architecting, implementing, securing, and supporting cloud-based infrastructure solutions using AWS. Deepan utilized Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and built CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployment.

Deepan then joined Seagate Technology as a Site Reliability Engineer and was tasked with maintaining a large-scale cloud and Kubernetes-based production infrastructure. Deepan provided critical support for Seagate's Storage as a Service platform, ensuring high uptime and availability. Deepan also automated responses to performance metrics, logs, and alerts.

Currently, Deepan works at NETS as the Cloud Engineering & DevSecOps Lead (VP). In this role, they are responsible for the overall architecture, design, security, DevOps, monitoring, and operations of NETS' AWS-based public cloud infrastructure. Deepan manages the architecture and infrastructure of Cloud-based workloads, including SmartBuddy, FX Services, and Remote Access. Deepan's skill set includes working with various AWS services, such as Elastic Beanstalk, ECS, API Gateway, EC2, ASG, Lambda, ELB, SNS, SES, CloudWatch, Systems Manager, and S3.

Deepan Chakkaravarthi completed their education at Pallavan Polytechnic College from 2001 to 2004, where they earned a Diploma of Education in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering. Prior to that, they attended RamaKrishna Higher Secondary School from 1995 to 2001. In addition to their education, Deepan has obtained several certifications, including DevOps Essentials from Linux Academy in November 2017, HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate from HashiCorp in April 2021, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA) from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in May 2019, Red Hat Certified System Administrator from Red Hat in October 2017, Red Hat Certified System Administrator in Red Hat OpenStack from Red Hat in July 2016.
