Laura van Geest

Laura van Geest currently serves as Chair of the Executive Board at Autoriteit Financiële Markten since February 2020. In addition to this role, Laura is a Member of the Supervisory Board at Netspar and Erasmus University Rotterdam, and serves as Chair of the FEC-council at Financieel Expertise Centrum. Starting June 2024, Laura will take on the position of External Evaluator at the Office for Budget Responsibility. Previous experience includes being a Member of the Independent Committee National Growth Fund and holding various chair roles related to climate research and wealth distribution at Rijksoverheid from June 2020 to August 2023. Laura was also the Director at CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis and worked as an Independent Expert at the Sociaal-Economische Raad (SER) until January 2020. Additionally, Laura has served on the Supervisory Board and Audit Committee at Elisabeth-TweeSteden Ziekenhuis and held senior positions such as Director General for Budget and Treasurer General at Ministerie van Financiën from February 2006 to July 2013. Laura holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Bestuurskunde from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
