Director of Engineering at Network Thermostat

Chris K. has over 30 years of work experience in the engineering field. Chris began their career in 1989 as an Aerospace Engineer at the Air Force Research Lab, where they were responsible for leading several missile system integrated live-fire tests and managing a technical contract for the development of advanced balloon payload avionics systems. In 1998, they became a Senior Design Engineer at Maple Chase Company, where they performed analysis and design of software for the Insight thermostat project. In 2002, they moved to Diehl Controls North America as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were the project manager responsible for the development of a low-cost high volume water/ice dispenser electronic control. In 2003, they became a Minority Share Partner at XCI Controls, where they designed and developed embedded software for electronic heating/air conditioning zone control panels. In 2006, they returned to IMI Cornelius as a Staff Software Engineer, where they developed firmware for an electronic valve controller for use in beverage dispensing. In 2009, they returned to NetworkThermostat as a Director of Product Development, where they developed firmware for an 802. 11 WiFi based HTTP server backplate for a residential/light commercial thermostat. In 2013, they moved to IMI Cornelius as a Software Lead Engineer, Embedded. Finally, in 2016, they returned to NetworkThermostat as the Director of Engineering.

Chris K. attended Purdue University from 1987 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. In 1994, they obtained a Professional Engineer Mechanical Engineering certification from the California Board for Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors. In 2012, they completed an Introduction to Computer Science and Programming course through edX.
