Laura Wheless

Laura Wheless, CFRE, possesses extensive experience in nonprofit development and institutional giving. Currently serving as the Director of Institutional Giving at Neuhaus Education Center since November 2024, Laura has previously held significant roles at the Houston Botanic Garden, where responsibilities included Director of Development and Associate Director of Development. Additional experience includes positions as Development Director at Hope and Healing Center & Institute, Grant Writer roles at Aurora Grants & Consulting and ChildBuilders, and Director of Business Development at Easterly. Laura's career began as Principal/Operator of Hannah's Fresh Baked Goodness and includes service as Project Director at Greater Houston Community Foundation and Senior Vice President at Easterly. Educational credentials feature a Bachelor of Arts in English from The University of Texas at Austin and a Fund Development Certificate from Rice University's Susanne M.
