Attila Varkonyi is an accomplished entrepreneurial investor with extensive experience in the venture capital landscape, particularly focusing on early-stage investments in the biotech sector in Hungary. Since 2000, Varkonyi has served as an entrepreneurial investor at FastVentures, building a diverse portfolio with several successful exits. Additionally, Varkonyi is a member of the Strategic Advisory Board of the Chairman at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and holds key positions on the boards of various companies, including SigmaDrugs Research and Kinepict Health Ltd, where innovative healthcare technologies are developed. As a co-founder and chair of the Bolyai Award Foundation, Varkonyi contributes to promoting scientific excellence in Hungary. Varkonyi earned a Master’s degree in Economics and Business from Corvinus University of Budapest and participated in the Executive Program at Singularity University.

Neunos Ltd is combining the latest advances of neuroscience with cutting-edge microelectronic approaches in order to provide a therapeutic solution based on oscillatory interference with ongoing neuronal network activity. We develop a minimally-invasive, implantable seizure suppression system, which automatically detects the onset of epileptic seizures and promptly terminates them by transcranial electrical stimulation before fatal accidents evolve. Treating epileptic seizures is our main focus, however we are continuously looking for new opportunities and alternative perspectives to deepen our knowledge in neuropsychiatric disorders, and find new non-pharmaceutical therapeutic approaches.
