Jean-Raymond Raynal has held various roles in the software engineering and robotics fields since 2012. In 2013, they were an Animateur for the Fédération des Oeuvres Laïques du Tarn. In 2014, they were an intern for the HLT group, CSIR, South Africa, where they developed a data display application to aid researcher work in Text to Speech voice development, developed a syllable variation interface web application, diagnosed voice synthesizing software performance, and investigated voice quality features. In 2015, they were a Junior Software Engineer at Neurala, where they implemented research grade algorithms, tested and optimized code, and developed demonstrations autonomously or within small teams. From 2016 to present, they have been a Lead Software Engineer and Robotic Engineer, Chief Tinkerer at Neurala. As a Lead Software Engineer, their responsibilities include facilitating the work of a team of engineers to produce a cross-platform, robust and fast software development kit for Artificial Intelligence applications, and communicating with project and product managers to maintain the tasks flowing in the right direction. As a Robotic Engineer, Chief Tinkerer, their role is to bring intelligence and freedom to robots for more and more complex applications.

Jean-Raymond Raynal obtained an Engineer degree (equivalent Master of Science) in Computer Science and Robotics from ENSEIRB-MATMECA between 2012 and 2015.
