Yousef Abouallaban has a diverse work experience in the field of psychiatry and neurology. Yousef started their career as a psychiatrist at U Mass Memorial Health in 1996, where they focused on diagnosing, treating, and preventing mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. From 2000 to 2005, they worked as the Medical Director at Boston Health Care. Yousef then joined Sheikh Khalifa Medical City as a Senior Consultant from 2005 to 2007. After that, Yousef founded and served as the CEO of the American Center for Psychiatry and Neurology in the UAE from 2007 to 2018. During their time there, they grew the center to over 200 employees and provided comprehensive care to 70,000 patients. Currently, they are the Director of Neuro Behavioral Center, an outpatient center focused on advanced and comprehensive treatment for adult psychiatric and psychological services.
Yousef Abouallaban pursued their education in a structured and progressive manner. Yousef began their academic journey at Aleppo University from 1982 to 1988, where they earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in the field of Medicine. Following this, from 1992 to 1996, Abouallaban attended Harvard Medical School and completed their residency in psychiatry, specializing in the field of Psychiatry. Seeking to enhance their skills in healthcare administration and management, they further pursued their education at Anna Maria College from 1998 to 2000. During this time, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Health/Health Care Administration/Management.
