James K. Liu

James K. Liu, MD, FACS, FAANS, serves as the Director of the Skull Base Institute of New Jersey and a neurosurgeon at Neurosurgeons Of New Jersey since January 2024, where focus includes advancing neurosurgical treatments for complex brain and skull base conditions. Concurrently, James K. Liu holds positions as a neurosurgeon at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Saint Clare's Health, and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, along with an extensive role at University Hospital as an attending neurosurgeon and Director of the Center for Skull Base and Pituitary Surgery. Previously, James K. Liu was a professor at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where responsibilities included training and mentoring residents and conducting neurosurgical research, contributing over 150 peer-reviewed publications. Educational background includes a BS in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from UCLA and an MD from New York Medical College, with additional training at Oregon Health & Science University and the University of Utah School of Medicine.
