Lou Pino has held various positions in the technology industry since 1989. Their career began at Bell Canada where they worked as Manager of Switching Systems Technology from 1989 to 1993. Lou then moved to Nortel Networks as Manager of Solutions Architecture from 1994 to 2004. In 2004, they began working at the University of Waterloo as a Machine Learning Research and was awarded an Alzheimer Society Canada Post-Doctoral award of $81,000 over two years in 2009. Lou then worked at The Richard Ivey School of Business Center for Health Innovation & Leadership (ICHIL) from 2010 to 2017. In 2017, they began working at Airo Health as a Data Science and Algorithms and moved to Strata Insights Inc. in 2018 as Director of Data Science. In 2019, Lou began working at Lixar IT as a Data Science Consultant and Neurovine as Chief Innovation Officer.

Lou Pino obtained a BASc in Electrical Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 1984. Lou then attended McGill University and obtained an M.Eng in Telecommunications Software in 1993. Lou concluded their education in 2009 with a Ph.D. in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
