Tom Ellsworth

Director, RF Engineering at Neuspera Medical

Tom Ellsworth has over 30 years of experience in the engineering field. Tom began their career in 1986 as a Staff Engineer at BAE Systems, Inc., where they designed high power, wideband RF power chain components for use in tactical jamming systems. In 1991, they moved to THALES COMMUNICATIONS LIMITED, where they were a Senior RF Engineer and RF Manager, supervising RF/analog Engineers and Technicians developing high power HF PA systems for commercial and military applications. In 1997, Tom joined Ericsson as a Senior Staff Engineer. In 2000, they began working at Flextronics as a Senior RF Engineer, where they were the lead RF Engineer for two wireless blood glucose and one BAL body worn monitors. From 2004 to 2008, they worked at Aviat Networks (formerly Stratex Networks, Microwave Communications Division of Harris Corporation) as a Senior Scientist, leading Engineer for hybrid PA module designs, and designing hybrid PHEMPT PAs and passive thin film microwave structures. In 2008, Tom moved to Elster Group as a Senior Engineer, where they were the RF technical lead for high profile AMI products with integrated cellular WAN and ISM band mesh network communications. From 2011 to 2018, they worked at Qorvo, Inc. as an Applications Engineering Manager, assembling and developing a team to support complex integrated GSM, W/CDMA and LTE/A modules. Finally, in 2018, Tom joined NeuSpera Medical Inc. as Director of RF Engineering and Principal Engineer, where they were the technical lead for an external device in Neuspera's wireless neuromodulation system, provided technical support and training for Production and Field Applications Engineers, worked closely with Quality to address any device deficiencies which arose in the field, and provided RF technical support for implanted device.

Tom Ellsworth received their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1986. In 1987, they completed coursework for a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of NYU. In 2017, they obtained an 8D Jedi certification from Qorvo, Inc. and a General Radiotelephone Operators License from the Federal Communications Commission.
