Geraldine Dawson, Ph.D., is a child clinical psychologist, specializing in autism. Her research has focused on autism early detection, treatment, and brain function. Currently, she serves as the William Cleland Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University, where she also is Professor of Pediatrics and Psychology & Neuroscience. Dr. Dawson's studies were among the first to describe autism symptoms during infancy.
Dr. Dawson also served as President of the International Society for Autism Research and was founding director of the University of Washington Autism Center. As a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, she received a Ph.D. in Developmental and Child Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington and completed a clinical internship at UCLA.
