Audra Hamernik has extensive experience in the field of affordable housing development and management. Audra currently serves as the President and CEO of Nevada HAND, Inc, where they oversee the development and administration of high-quality homes and supportive services for working families and seniors. Prior to this role, Audra was the Executive Director of the Illinois Housing Development Authority, where they led a team of over 300 individuals and facilitated the financing of over $2 billion worth of projects. Earlier in their career, they held leadership positions at Bluestem Housing Partners, NFP, where they focused on developing affordable housing in partnership with nonprofit organizations, and at their own planning and development firm, A. Hamernik & Associates, Inc. Audra's career also includes experience in community development projects at the Village of Villa Park and in providing technical assistance to housing developers at DuPage County.
Audra Hamernik obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the period from 1989 to 1992. Following this, they pursued further education at the same institution and earned a Master of Urban Planning degree in Urban and Regional Planning from 1992 to 1994.
