Marcie Jackson's work experience begins in 1996 with roles in administration and the purchasing division at First Security Bank and Barber Barrett Turner Architects, respectively. In 1998, they joined the Dean of Students Office at the University of Utah. In 2001, Marcie became a Program Manager at the American Cancer Society. From 2002 to 2009, they served as the Deputy Director at the Area Health Education Center of Southern Nevada, managing the organization's divisions and staff and overseeing a significant budget. From 2009 to 2011, Marcie worked as a Senior Research Administrator at the UNLV Office of Sponsored Programs, assisting faculty with securing external support for their research projects. Since 2011, they have been involved with the Nevada System of Higher Education, starting as a Research Administrator for the NSF EPSCoR project and subsequently holding positions as Interim Director and Director of System Sponsored Programs and EPSCoR. In these roles, Marcie provided leadership in grant administration, managed staff, and represented NSHE to various programs and sponsors.
Marcie Jackson completed their education starting from 1997 to 1999 at Salt Lake Community College, where they earned an Associate of Science in Business Administration. Afterwards, they attended the University of Utah from 1999 to 2001 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion and Education. In 2010, Marcie enrolled in the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and completed their Master's degree in Public Administration in 2012. Additionally, in 2001, they received the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc, and in 2014, they obtained the Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification from the Research Administrators Certification Council.
