Heela Rasool-Ayub

Heela Rasool-Ayub currently serves as the Director of Planetary Politics at New America since April 2023. Prior to this role, significant experience includes a tenure at USAID from July 2011 to April 2023, where responsibilities included serving as Director for the Office of Development Cooperation, Foreign Service Officer focused on Democracy and Governance, and Legislative Liaison. Additionally, Heela Rasool-Ayub held the position of Director for Global Engagement at the National Security Council in The White House from June 2016 to February 2017. Earlier, an investigations and compliance consultant role was held at The World Bank from 2009 to August 2011. Academic achievements include a Juris Doctor with a certificate in International Legal Studies obtained from University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law (2004-2007) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of California, Davis (2002-2004).
