Jodi Narde

Director, Editorial & Publications at NEW AMERICA

Jodi Narde is the deputy director of communications, content for New America. In this role, she sets and steers the organization’s content strategy—overseeing New America’s social media channels, serving as a managing editor for The Thread, and partnering with program teams to connect their research to broader audiences.

Prior to joining New America, Narde directed the publications program at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, where she managed the digital and print content pipeline, launched a formal publications process, and provided close editorial support to researchers and policy experts.

Previously, Narde led a small-but-mighty strategic communications team at the Aga Khan Foundation USA. There she was responsible for a robust portfolio of communications products and multichannel engagement campaigns. During her time at AKF, she sharpened the organization’s brand voice, established key messaging pillars and editorial style guidelines, and trained staff on human-centric storytelling.

Narde also brings over eight years of experience in academic publishing. She served as a freelance copy editor; directed the digital marketing program at New York University Press; and worked as an assistant editor at Oxford University Press.

Narde holds a Master of Public Administration degree in nonprofit management from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a Bachelor of Arts in creative writing from Tulane University in New Orleans, La.
