Katy O'Brien

Katy O'Brien is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in sustainable innovation and engineering. Currently serving as the Head of Sustainable Innovation at New Balance since November 2015, Katy has effectively managed teams and budgets to drive growth in domestic footwear manufacturing. Previous roles at New Balance include Senior Manager and Engineering Manager, where significant advancements in automated technology and individual employee development were achieved. As a co-founder of OneBin Inc., Katy focuses on enhancing airport security experiences through innovative system design. Prior positions include Product Engineer at Draper, where customer relationships and project management were central to success, and Mechanical Engineer roles at The Shaw Group and Double E Engineering, where pioneering engineering solutions were developed. Educational credentials include a Master’s Degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science from Tufts University.
