David-James Gonzales

Host Of New Books In Latino Studies at New Books Network

David-James Gonzales, PhD, is an accomplished academic and current Assistant Professor of History at Brigham Young University since August 2018, specializing in U.S. history. Additionally, Gonzales serves as the host of "New Books in Latino Studies" for New Books Network, conducting insightful interviews with leading scholars in Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies. Previous academic roles include a Lecturer at the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Postdoctoral Scholar and Teaching Fellow at the University of Southern California, where Gonzales focused on race, ethnicity, migration, and Latina/o/x politics. Gonzales holds a PhD and a Master's Degree in History from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor's Degree in History from UC San Diego.
